This is a picture of me taken in Atlanta when I was there for my first Braves game. I am at the spot where Hank Aaron's 715th home run that broke the record went over the fence. Ever since this trip I have loved the Braves. The picture was taken after I had been on a tour of the stadium. Later that day I went to batting practice and then the game. This trip was the first trip of what became a tradition of going to Atlanta every year to see a game.

This trip was very special, my mom and dad surprised me for my birthday and took our family to this game. The morning before the game we went on a tour of Turner Field. This tour took you through the museum, the broadcasting booth, the locker room, and the dugouts. They even let us walk on the warning track of the field. After that we walked through the tunnels of Turner Field. While walking through there we passed a dumpster which contained the freshly cut grass from the outfield. My dad grabbed a little bit of it and put it in a Ziploc bag and we brought that home as a little souvenir.

After the tour we went to the Green Lot where the old stadium, Fulton County Stadium was. Here they have the outline of the old infield and outfield. There is a section of fence that is still standing where Hank Aaron's record breaking home run landed. This is where I posed for the picture, pretending to try to catch a fly ball. One weird thing that happened while I was taking this picture was I found a quarter behind the fence in this picture so I picked it up and have kept it in a bag with the picture ever since. I really love this picture. After taking this picture I ran the outline of the bases.

It was finally time for my first MLB experience. We went to the stadium as soon as we could to see batting practice. It was neat to see the team shagging fly balls in the outfield. It was so amazing to see my favorite players in real life. It was finally time for us to find our seats and get ready for the first pitch. On the way to our seats I spotted a peanut vendor, of course we had to stop. As we found our seats it was time to stand and sing the national anthem. The starting Pitcher was Greg Maddux, my favorite at the time. Then to top it all off my favorite closer, John Smoltz came in to save the game. The Braves defeated the New York Mets six to four. I would have to say this was the best Braves game I have been to.

This picture is memorable for many reasons. Every time I see this picture I remember the first time I went down to Atlanta to see a Braves game. Now I go down to Atlanta every year just to watch a game. I went this year for the last game of the season against the Philadelphia Phillies. I even have the game picked out for next year's season. I am going to go down and see the New York Yankees play the Braves. I have waited so long for this game. Mostly because my sister is a Yankees fan and I always pick on her about how the Braves are better than
