Summary
We broke down the entire networking event into 9 activities.
To organize the networking event, the first step is to select a venue for the event then decide the date and time for the event date and also booking the venue. It also includes making the parking arrangements for the people attending the event.
The second step for this event is the financial planning and allocation of funds. For this we are required to make a list of all the expenses and then prepare a budget and allocate the funds accordingly.
Then comes the invitation part which includes preparing a list of students and guest attending the event. This involves designing and printing invitation cards and name tags and then finally posting invitations to the guests.
Next step involves the promotion of the event which requires advertising the event. This can be done through radio advertisements, distributing pamphlets and by publishing advertisements in newspapers.
Next step is to arrange for catering, choosing the caterers and deciding on the menu as to what will be served to the students and the guests attending the event. It also includes setting up of light and sound systems for the event. This is followed by making final list of the attendees for the event. This includes making calls to everyone in order to confirm the arrivals, both students and recruiters. This phase also includes arranging the accommodations for the guests arriving from distant places.
At last comes the part of purchasing the gifts as token for the guests for their involvement in the event and also preparing the thank you speech to the guests.
