Armistice Day was intended to honor the soldiers of World War I for their services. Veterans Day was first celebrated in 1919 an act in May 13, 1938 made it an official holiday. After World War II it was changed to include all soldiers from all wars. In 1954 the holiday was changed to Veterans Day. Up to this day it is a federal holiday that is celebrated on November 11th regardless of what day of the week it falls and is the day we honor the men and women of the armed forces. To a veteran November 11th is a day in which all his/hers efforts and services are recognize with gratitude and honor. Veterans Day is a day to recognize and reflect on the importance of the sacrifice of soldiers and fallen heroes.
IVUP program it's a partnership between IVC and SDSU-IV. This program will help freshman students to be enrolling the first 2 years at IVC and the last two at SDSU. IVUP's main goal to increase academic performance, student retention and graduation rates. The program is aiming their resources to ensure that more students have access to higher education. The 2 advantages are financial aid availability and academic advising. The 2 disadvantages are very few majors available and less courses to choose from. In conclusion the IVUP program it's a great opportunity for students in the valley.
