Problem solving and decision making are the most important skills for the real business world and also in our personal life. Decision making and problem solving, both are important for management and leadership. They both are linked to each other and they both require creativity in identifying and developing options. Decision making is one of the essential leadership skills. If we want to be successful then we should know how to manage time and take a proper decision. This can lead us to a deserved success.

Writing my APS assignments and the group activities involved in it are one of my significant experiences of decision making. Writing my regular assignment I think is the most difficult task for me especially when we have to write about self-experience. It might be difficult because I am not expressive and cannot express myself in proper words. And whenever I used to get any data or reference, it used to be difficult for me to decide which one is the correct or suitable. So I faced lots of decision making barriers like lack of knowledge, too much of references, fear of taking wrong decision, peer review pressure, etc.

So I decided to plan my work, so I can complete my work on time. I started prioritizing my work and allotted time for my different tasks. So I can complete my work properly and can do my assignment in a step process. Using Decision making process steps like identifying the topic, collection of data, generation and evaluation of alternatives, decision implementation and evaluation helped me a lot to prioritise work and to take an appropriate decision. Whenever I write my assignments or work for my group activities, I work according to these decision making process steps. This makes my work more simple and I don't get confuse in a huge amount of articles or books in the database. Hannagan(2008:397-399)

Another technique which I learnt in my APS class was a zig- zag model which helped me to do my present assignment on decision making in a proper way and also helped me in my week 7 group activity of decision making. It consists of four steps listed below:-

* Focus on the detail- this step helped me to decide correct write data which for required for my present assignment and the group activity of week 7 in which we had to prioritise the work and make arrange the work and make a timetable for us so that we can save time. I also used my previous experience so that I don't repeat the same mistake again and tried to think about some realistic data.

* Focus on the big picture- this step helped me to remember to look for the connections with other data and look for new and original ideas. It also helped me to use various models and theory.

* Focus on logic- this step indicated me to focus on the given task
