Anthropocene is a very intriguing term, that so happens to have disastrous consequences for our environment and the world. Anthropocene is the term that is used to describe our current era of human decisions or lack of decisions that are going to leave noticeable mark in our solar system and in our planet's surface. Also the term the Anthropocene is definitely a term we need to consider especially with our population growth, as well as how we are using our natural resources. As us, humans, use our resources each resource we use will leave a global impact if we keep using our resources. During human time, once we began to get away from the hunter and gathering type of thought process, we began to use agriculture. Once we began to use agriculture, we needed to find other ways to improve and make farming easier on ourselves, so we developed tools and that therefore led to machinery over time. Once we began to use machinery, we realized we can use machinery to make other items and jobs easier as well, hence the industrial revolution. As the industrial revolution hit, we began to use coal and oil to fuel the machines, the industrial revolution spread throughout the world. After the industrial revolution, humans have created more and more ways to make life easier, from communication to transportation. All of our actions, impact the world around us and my opinion really consists of the fact that the sooner we figure out ways to fix the damage we have already caused, the better off the planet and ourselves will be. Essentially, humans are causing the Earth to go into a new stage or era, and this stage is not a good one.
A survivalist would view this issue as an overuse of the commons. The best way any survivalist would describe the solution to this problem is to make people realize that they are, in fact, harming everyone as well as themselves; also that their actions are causing more issues than those actions are helping. The more resources humans use, the more the impact of those consequences of the use of resources will be. A prime example of this is the exponential growth model, which shows that emissions, or and gas that we put into our environment is going to keep building and building until it is over the carry capacity of what the Earth can handle, which has created issues like the hole in the ozone layer, lack of biodiversity, and more pollution causing humans to become sick. Also the lily pond theory that the more time passes, the more lilies or pollution there will be, is a great example of how the exponential growth model works as well. Survivalist would rather the problems be fixed immediately or prevented from happening to begin with, as opposed to having to go back after a significant amount of time has passed and trying to correct the damage that has already occurred.
The prometheanism discourse perspective on this issue would be that precautionary measures are the best way to go about these types of issues, especially
