Alternative Energy Essay
Do you want to know more about alternative energies? First of all an alternative energy is a energy generated in ways that do not deplete natural resources or harm the environment, esp. by avoiding the use of fossil fuels and nuclear power. There are three main kinds that are going to be in here describing how, and why they are used and also the pros and cons of this energy. If you never knew anything about these energies, now is your time to be enlightened.
Nuclear Energy is created by nuclear fusion or heavy atoms bombarded with neutrons. Uranium then slits into smaller and emits energy. Some pros of Nuclear Energy are that it has a lot of energy produced, and it is very clean which means no pollution. Some cons of Nuclear energy are the costs of facilities are high, and hazards of disposing nuclear waste and serious accidents can allow radioactive material out. At the same time, nuclear energy is good and very harmful.
Solar energy is created by solar panels that collects energy and converts it into electricity. Some pros of solar energy are that it is very efficient and is unlimited when the sun is out. Some cons of this are it I expensive to build, does not work at night and is a heating supplement when the suns not out. Basically, solar energy can be useful or irrelevant because it can only work during the day with the suns energy and heat.
Finally, Wind Energy is created by turbines grouped together into a wind form that supplies power to large electric grids, and generates electricity. Some pros of this are that it is very efficient, renewable and inexpensive. Cons of this are that it can be very noisy, and there are land requirements for technical advances. This type of energy is the best in my opinion because its renewable because of the wind which is a renewable resource and it is inexpensive.
In conclusion, these energies are all efficient. Only two of the energies mentioned have really bad cons. Solar energy is created by the sun and solar panels. Wind energy is created by wind turbines and wind farms. Lastly nuclear energy is generated by nuclear fusion and uranium. These are the three types of alternative energies that have a positive and negative impact on the environment.
