There are two sides to every story. Sometimes even more than just the basic two. In regards to alcohol, there are several stories. Several different outcomes, some extreme, some minor. The point is, a consumer of alcohol should be aware of them all. They shouldn't blindly put themselves at risk without knowing the entire story. Especially someone like a teenager.
Drinking is an activity that if done in moderation, with control and responsibility, can relatively have no consequences. However, there are boundaries that need not be crossed and rules that should be followed, and if they aren't can have fatal consequences.
Health is a primary concern for everyone. No one wants to have health problems. Unfortunately, alcohol is a toxin to your body. It's a poison. That's why people have hangovers, that's why people puke sometimes after a night of heavy drinking. It's your body's way of saying, "Don't drink this!" However because of social and emotional advantages to drinking, people tend to overlook this as a mere side effect to drinking. And in a way, that's all it is. With control, alcohol may never be a health problem in some peoples lives. However those who lack control and get carried away in their drinking habits, may very well drink themselves to diseases that they may have lived their entire lives without had they just controlled their inhibitions. Control is major, because drinking too much in one sitting can lead to fatal circumstances. Another fatal side effect to alcohol is the puking. If on ones back while vomiting, it can result in choking on the puke because alcohol makes you unable to think clearly and rolling over will not be an option for a highly intoxicated person. Long term health effects that are caused by alcohol include liver scoliosis which is the most common by alcoholics. However liquor further takes a toll on the stomach, pancreas, throat, sexual organs and the heart. It's also fatal to unborn children and cause major defects to the infant, and is highly recommended pregnant woman do NOT drink alcohol at any point during their pregnancy.
As stated previously, there are several sides to every story. Alcohol's effects do not only effect the physical state of being. The emotional and social parts also take a toll on each individual. However, unlike the physical side of alcohol, there are actually some good outcome's towards consumers of alcohol.
" I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day." -Frank Sinatra. This is an example of a socially accepted view to alcohol. Alcohol makes you feel relaxed. Bubbly and happy. Like everything you say is absolutely hilarious and that the most important thing to you is simply to have a great time. That is what alcohol can do for you. It does wonders emotionally and socially. Emotionally, you feel happy, and there's nothing wrong with that. Socially, you are relaxed in awkward social moments. You have the guts to talk to someone you never could before, you may be the life of the party and have one of the best times ever. That's the best part of alcohol. That very feeling. The benefits you reap and enjoy by drinking the magical dancing juice. But, that's not for everyone.
