If you enjoy listening to The Beatles music, then you would probably enjoy Across the Universe. They include around 30 songs written by The Beatles. There are many great things to this movie, some of which includes the cast. The way they set the scene of which the movie took place in and the plot. Another detail that I really enjoyed was the singing.

Honestly, I think that the movie had pretty good actors, some of which you may have heard of. The actors in the movie include, Jim Sturgess, Evan Rachel Wood, Joe Anderson, T. V. Carpio, Dana Fuchs, and Martin Luther McCoy. They did a great job portraying the characters. Each character had its own unique persona. Besides being able to play their role well, they were all talented singers.

The greatest aspect about the movie is that it takes place in the 1960's, around the time of the Vietnam War. Which is why they included some great songs written by the Beatles. Some Beatles songs match perfectly with the setting and plot. A song that matches the time it takes place and the scene is "Revolution". Jude (Jim Sturgess) causes a riot when he storms in the building in which his girlfriend, Lucy (Evan Rachel Wood), works in. He bolts in singing the song and soon after he comes in he punches Lucy's boss in the face, which results with him getting kicked out of the building. But basically, the movie is about a young man, Jude, who falls in love with Lucy (Evan Rachel Wood). They go through ups and downs but they still end up together, even after everything.

Something I really enjoyed in the movie is that there is a lot of singing involved. The cast sang all of the songs amazingly. They fit some really great scenes into the movie to match up with some of the lyrics. Like in the scene where they sing the song "With a Little Help from My Friends", Jude (Jim Sturgess) had just met Max (Joe Anderson) and they're getting along great. They go out and have some drinks and just have a great time. Another great scene is when Max has to go see Uncle Sam. He's being recruited to join the army. When he's inside all the soldiers are singing, "I Want You (She's So Heavy), and it fits well because the army recruiters want him to join.

Overall, I think that this was a good movie. The director, Julie Taymor, did a good job casting the roles for the movie. Many aspects of the movie were great. Especially, how well the whole story was put together with the songs. I'd rate it an 8.5/10. It had some great scenes and some great actors. It's an exciting movie to watch, and I'd enjoy watching it again.
