Abortion
Abortion has always been a big problem in America for a lot of reasons. Abortion is the termination a pregnancy by removal of the fetus or embryo. There is a big arguments dispute about abortion because; at least 50% of Americans believe that abortion should be illegal in America. Abortion should be against the law because it is murder, it goes against religion, and it causes unforeseen psychological emotional and mental stress.
Abortion is not just wrong because it is killing a baby, it is wrong to the body of the woman getting the abortion done. One of the drugs used for abortion is called RU 486 and there are proven facts that these drug releases toxins in there bodies, If the women try to conceive again, the woman might not be able to. And 42% of woman when the doctor tells them that they cancel the abortion. "According to Gallops Annual Values and Belief Survey, conducted May 10-13, 2007, 49% of Americans consider themselves pro-choice and 45% call themselves pro life so about 50-50.(Macrovitz) The definition of life, life begins at fertilization, when a sperm unites with an oocyte. From this moment, the being is highly organized, has the ability to gain energy and grow. Also has the ability to adapt. Non-living things do not do these things. Even before the mother is aware that she is pregnant, a distinct, unique life has begun inside. Dr. Hymie Gordon, says " By all the criteria of modern molecular biology, life is the present from the moment of conception" ( Association Of Pro life Physicians).
Abortion is against some people's religion, such as Christians. Over the years, the Gallup Organization (religious group) has polled Americans on their beliefs and has constantly concluded that most Americans believe in god and regard abortion. A 2002 poll found a majority of religious Americans in support of stricter laws regulating abortion (Herda). Some christians religious views say that the only way that a woman can get an abortion is if she has been raped or incest. When it comes down to religion, it's just not right because you are supposed to live right and how the bible wants you to live. The bible says in (Matthew 5:21) "Thou shall not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment."(Roleff) This explains how the great lord wouldn't approve of abortion and if you shall choose that route when that day comes and judgment day comes that abortion is going to be brought out to the light. There are many different things about religions that disapprove of abortion.
PTSD causes a lot of harm to woman and causes them to have psychological and emotional stress.A study of the medical records of 56,741 California Medicaid patients revealed that women who had abortions were 160 percent more likely than delivering women to be hospitalized for psychiatric treatment in the first 90 days following abortion or delivery. Rates of psychiatric treatment remained significantly higher for at least four years. In a study of post-abortion patients, only 8 weeks after their abortion, researchers found that 44% complained of nervous disorders, 36% had experienced sleep disturbances, 31% had regrets about their decision, and 11% had been prescribed psychotropic medicine by their family doctor (Herda). While psychological reactions to abortion fall into many categories, some women experience all or some of they symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The lowest incidence rate of PTSD reported following abortion is 1.5%, which would translate to over 600,000 cases of abortion induced PTSD (After Abortion). PTSD is post traumatic stress disorder. A lot of women suffer that after or before getting an abortion (After abortion).
