A rose for Emily is a story that take you back in time. It's about Miss Emily who is so shut out from everyone else and refuses to accept change. Viewing this story from a feminist point of view shows that women were treated differently but Miss Emily would have none of it. All though many disagreed with the way Miss Emily lived no one dared tell her anything about it because she was a "lady". For example, the house aged as did Miss Emily, and eventually it began to rot and even smell and all though many of the people in town restored to telling the authorities no one dared tell Emily that she smelled. Instead they sunk into to her property and took care of the problem all by herself. From the very beginning nothing about Emily is right for the time period. Her father was a very controlling man, Emily had no choice in anything. They believed they were better than anyone and for that reason no one ever got close to Miss Emily, so when her father died Emily was alone and she continued to stay alone. Believeing she was better than everyone kept everyone away. She didn't behave like a "normal" women in those times. While many women would invite you in , offer you a drink and say hello when you arrived at their house Miss Emily would simply accnolige your precense! She didn't believe anyone was to be treated differently in her eyes, she was better then all of them.
