A Rise to Career Success
Development is a natural function of life. As a member of society, the constant demand to evolve in various areas of life heightens. A professional career is one major area that requires ongoing development and advancement. The professional knowledge and abilities applied in an occupation that progress an individual as well as the employer measures a successful career. Career success is a continual process that requires personal development to build professional skills and abilities that will drive further advancement in a career.
A variety of methods to developing professional knowledge and abilities are available. Some examples include: researching company trends, reviewing policies and procedures, enrolling in professional training courses, and using surrounding influences to promote skills. Influential individuals and organizations will help drive professional interest, and assist in strengthening knowledge, values, and possibly ethics in career success.
I have a personal passion for training and development, which is the career direction I am striving toward. In a trainer's position I will conduct training courses in a classroom environment on a variety of work functions for a number of departments, such as: customer service, claims processing, and other health insurance related topics. As a trainer to new and seasoned employees, I will require constant development in my knowledge and abilities to my job. In addition to my ongoing development with the company's procedures and guidelines, I must enhance my teaching abilities as well. Communication skills and personal approach are essential factors in teaching and determine if efforts are effective and successful. My interests in education and training have pushed me to examine organizations that specialize in education and classroom environments. The National Education Association is an organization that I have found to be very beneficial. The NEA focuses on providing articles and links on various teaching areas and it also provides tools that will assist in sharpening teaching skills. I can look up strategies to maintaining effective classroom etiquette, lesson plan templates, icebreakers, and personal development exercises. Although the NEA specializes in child education, the tools and practices are expertise that I can incorporate in my development as a trainer in my company.
With any new job, a need to improve upon a variety of skills is necessary and analysis to strengthen abilities is a requirement. I am inexperienced in facilitating a class and, at moments, I tend to have first day jitters when meeting new people and the inadequacy in both areas will need to be remedied before I can become a successful trainer.
