One hot day in October Jacklan, Kathran, Fang, and their father, Hennry
Dedra, were traveling from Lebanon PA. to North Creek NY. To stay with Amanda
their Mom.
"Are you sure you three want to stay with your Mother, while I am over
seas? "Hennry asked again,"You know her drinking habits."
'Dad, Mom stopped drinking about three years ago and it is better then staying with
Aunt Kathy." Kathran the oldest of the three said. Her long red hairs whipped out
of the window, her crystal blue eyes danced like gemstones in the sun. Next to her
sat Fang the second oldest. His yellow hair with blue tips wasspiked and his green
hazel eyes looked as if he was in wonderland.
Jacklan the youngest sat up front with their Father. Her dark green hair in a
ponytail and her emerald eyes searched the trees, "It will be nice to get away from
the city. I feel more free already." Jacklan muttered.
"Gees Jackal talking to yourself its normal. It will get you picked on." Hennry
told her. His brown eyes full of concern.
"She has always talked to herself, Dad. Id thought you would get used to it by
now." Fang said in a very laze and careless voice.
Four hours in to the drive Kathran was reading a book when Fang asked 'Kat
were is my Ipod?
"The packet in front of you." Was all she said before getting back to her story.
In front Jacklan sat watching the trees fly by. Smelling the pines. Listening to the
whisper of the wind. The buildings of the city long behind them and towns
spreading farther and farther apart. There was plenty of room to run.
Kat looked up from her book it was almost dark. She know she wouldn't be
able to read much longer. So she asked Fang, "Mind taking the head phones out so
we all hear?" He nodded and
unplugged them. The song was Half-breed by Cher. The song was a favorite of the
three kid.
"I swore you are the most talented witch I know." Fang told her in amassment.
She looked at her brother, smacked him, and reminded him, "Dad doesn't want
us machining
thus unlike talents around him."
"Kat it's ok. I have gotten used to it somewhat over the past five years. I cant
except you
without excepting your power." He told them, "Hey Jackal," She looked at him, "Give your sister so reading light."
Eyes wide she asked, "Light or fire?"
"Light I don't quite trust fire in my car."
Next thing he knew there was a doll glow coming from the back. Surprised he said "Nice job, Jackal."
"Thanks just tell me when to turn it off, k"
"Ok but we still have an hour and a half. So we still have a while."
Fang looked at the sky, "Oman theres a full moon on Monday night."
'Well there is plenty of room to run wouldn't you say." Jackal remarked
"That maybe true but there are still danger for me and others." Fang said anxiety.
"That is why muzzles and chains are good for you the night of the full moon." Kat said.
Hennry looked at her in the mirror and said sternly, "That was not funny, Kathran."
"Dad she is dead series a muzzle keeps me from eating and chains hold me back so I can't hurt anyone." Fang said in Kat's defenses." It won't be like this forever though one day I will have enough self-control to not eat or terrier things a part."
The rest of the trip was pretty much silent excepted for Kat asking Fang to undo his headphones several times. It was eleven when they got there, Amanda, their Mom was sitting on a porch swing with a tea pitcher, five cups, candles, and matches on a table next to her. She walked down to meet them. Kat hugged her first and said, "Hi Mom how's it goin."
"Fine kiddo. You're still my Goth child, I see. Well Fang you have gotten a lot... bigger. You look good sunny-boy."
Blushing Fang nodded "Thanks Mom.'
"My my my Jackal look at you. You look like a mottle and your hair is amassing."
"Thanks Mom." A beat red Jackal managed.
"Hello Amanda." Hennry said. "You look good."
"You look like you need to sleep. Hennry you need to start tacking better care of yourself. For you and the kids. O and hi."
"I wish they would get back to gather." Jackal though to her siblings. "You can see the way they look at each other."
"Yea youre right." Kat thought.
"Well lets have some tea. Then to bed you four." Amanda said.
"Four?" The other chimed together.
"Yes four we cant have your dad driving half asleep. He could kill himself."
"She
