 Geogor Samsa was introduced in the beginning of the story as a transformed monstrous vermin the moment he woke up from his dreams in his room. The main character had a minor epiphany in the introduction due to this awareness of the changes made onto his body. It was described that he, a busy travelling salesman was late for work and had trouble with his locomotion. He struggled to regain control of his numb legs despite all the exhaustion from his sales work. Fabrics and paperwork were scattered across his desk signifies Geogor had no time to prepare himself properly and was too tired to follow his schedule thus resulted him late for work the next day. It was also projected that Geogor Samsa's earnings are the family's primary income which results Geogor to be the responsible man for bringing prosperous to home. Throughout the time, Geogor became fearful of his role and developed certain fear towards his father indirectly - the fear of being dejected and not being able to accomplish something. The fear that was projected by Geogor was too shown when the head clerk appeared in front of his house. In between, there were flashbacks taken place which leaded Geogor to question himself why did he place himself in a miserable position when he compared his situations to other salesman. However he did not question any further because he has already understood that it is his duty to his family.

 The head clerk showed up in front of Gregor's house after Gregor had internal conflicts whether to decide to show up for work.

 Suspense was added when Gregor's father budged abruptly into Gregor's room and threw an apple which ended up inside Gregor's back for quite some time. Gregor heard and roughly saw his sister and his mother trying to stop his dad from moving towards him. It caused more tension in the family and flaming their desire to get rid of Gregor even more.

 Gregor's most trusted family member, his sister has decided to give up on him and convinced the family to also give up on Gregor stating that Gregor isn't himself anymore despite Gregor still had his sanity remained.

 When Gregor made his way back to his room after the boarders left, the door behind him shut quickly and a voice was heard. It turned out that it was his sister that has been standing by ready and waiting to lock Gregor back into his room. It was much tensed as we were made to understand that Gregor loved and was close his sister, believed that his sister would probably be the one who understood him very much compared to his parents.

 Gregor came to an understanding that his existence isn't needed by his family but a misfortune that has casted his love ones more sufferings instead of happiness.

 "His thoughts, full of tenderness and love, went back to his family. He was even more firmly convinced than his sister, if possible, that he should disappear. He remained in this state of empty and peaceful reflection until the tower clock struck three in the morning. He hung on to see the growing light outside the window. Than his head sank involuntarily to the floor and his last feeble breath streamed from his nostrils." - He decided to leave after he was convinced that he isn't needed anymore and believed that by disappearing, would lift up the family's burden.
