1. According to Maslow's hierarchy, which basic needs did Shank's old boss fail to meet? Explain why the needs have not been met. What could be done to meet these missing needs?
According to Maslow's hierarchy, Shank's old boss failed to meet self actualization, esteem, and social needs. These needs were not met because he treated his employees like tools for the company rather than employees who want to devote their own skills, abilities and knowledge to help in the success of the company. This will for a fact kill the morale of these employees to put in their all in all in the organization. Her old boss could have met these missing needs just by acknowledging their inputs in the company and rewarding them accordingly will help the employer-employee relationship go a long way.

We may have the tendency to compare ourselves to others especially when it comes to salary or promotion and always think that we deserve more. This habit brings about the subject of equity in treating employees in an organization. In order to prevent this from happening, a manager must ensure that his employees are treated fairly and rewarded based on their inputs like time, productivity level, efficiency, and many others. These create a good sense of fairness in the organization.
