It's time to make a change
Today the U.S ratings in education when compared to the other countries is the lowest, China is the highest. Countries other than the U.S for example, are more competitive and strict of their students learning's like China and South Korea (New York Times). The U.S can't even compete with countries such as China, because the education ratings are so low. Facts from the "Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) tests 15 year old students in the U.S needs to start having higher expectations, change the dress-code at schools, teach and learn in a more standardized strict way an inform parents, students and adults at schools about the importance of being well-educated and competitive.
American schools have rules, but they are enforced too much. To become one the best countries with a higher educated school, parent, principals, teachers, and security at the schools should start having higher expectations of the students. In order to accomplish this goal, schools need to start enforcing the school rules more. By doing so there will be more discipline starting kindergarten all the way to the end of 12th grade year. In China there are 6 years of elementary, 3 years of middle school and 3 years of high school. Kindergarten starts at age four and through the 12th grade, the students have to attend school from 7:30 a.m to 4:00 p.m (China). This decision will help U.S students to have a higher prospect for themselves. Also the adults at the schools need to have an exceeding positive attitude so the students can have that "can do" attitude. If the adults around them think they can't become what they want, then the student won't believe in
themselves which causes low self-esteem. In china. the students' parents have a positive attitude towards their children individual developments which helps to have a close awareness to diet, determination, training, moral decision, and emotional exchange with adults is significant (Aibo). Becoming more involved in with students, like assemblies, hands-on activities in the classroom, influencing students to have more school spirit and become more involved at schools will enhance their outlook of themselves and their school. Not only do the adults in our lives and we as students need to have a higher expectation for ourselves, but enforce the dress-code a lot more in schools.
Having a more, strict dress-code at schools will make the school become a better learning environment for students and a better teaching environment for teachers. China schools have to wear a strict dress-code in which the boys wear blue tracks suits and girls in red ones (China). Schools don't have to necessarily have to have uniforms but certain garments shouldn't be aloud, like for example for girls, any form fitting garments. Having clothes that hang low where everyone can see your under garments also creates an immense distraction. The environment will be improved for students and teachers because kids will become more involved in school, there will be less body distractions and students and teachers will be comfortable. Enforcing the dress-code will help students be able to concentrate and have a "willing-to-learn attitude." If a student doesn't follow the dress-code, this is where the rules are enforced more, by giving the student referral or
after-school detention, which will help the student understand the importance of the dress-code and having an intellectual, competent learning environment. Having a strict dress-code is what's best for
