Alzheimer's Disease
Alzheimer's Disease is an accelerated form of Dementia in which the patient suffers from memory loss and with time gradually worsens. This disease occurs amongst senior citizens around the age of 65 and older. However, in some cases it has been know to show symptoms as young as 40. There's no way, as of now to be certain of how exactly this disease develops, although it's known to damage and eventually destroy brain cells as it gradually becomes worse and brain function declines. Over time brain cells eventually wither away and die. The only known ways of contracting this disease is through genetics and the risk of developing this disease increases substantially after the age of 70 . Those suffering experience disturbances in reasoning, planning, language, and perception. More specifically, Alzheimer's patients struggle daily with performing familiar tasks ,difficulty writing or speaking, loss of time and place, and losing or misplacing items. More daily battles include mood or behavior changes and poor judgments. Someone with this disease requires constant care and attention. Patients are considered mentally and physically disabled needing assistance with all or most tasks. Unfortunately, there is no cure for this awful disease yet, and eventually after the disease progresses the patient becomes more and more untouched with reality until they finally pass away.
