1. The importance of understanding Business Process Change as it relates to your future employment plans.

My ability to understand the importance of Business Process Change as it relates to my future employment plans is essential in that I will be better prepared to make business decisions. I now realize the value of process change as well as the need to maintain a plan that all staff would be familiar with in order to succeed. When evaluating my future, I believe that viewing any decision as a business transaction is key; as emotions are left out of the equation. By viewing the future as business ventures I will be able to create a strategic plan to implement and correct the various processes in my life.

In addition, it is vital that I have a clear vision of my future as well as a plan to attain the goals I have set forth. By maintaining a vision, I am able to establish a mission and create a strategy for the task. Strategic thinking will be used in order to create a guide as well as metrics to measure the effectiveness of each step taken. Key performance indicators can also be used in assessing personal goals. By utilizing all that was learned including various theories and methods, I will be able to succeed in the business field.

Theories and methods such as the Balanced Scorecard, Six Sigma, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) can be utilized to improve not only my current professional experience but that of all of my staff. These various strategies can assist me in providing upper level management with a snapshot of current processes within the organizations that I work for. In providing this information to my bosses, they will see that I clearly understand the functions of the office as well as the need for change and its implementation. My increased ability to understand the business process is vital to my growth and potential within any firm.

2. Is a formal process change necessary for all organizational changes? If so, explain why. If not, explain why not?

A formal process change is essential for all organizational changes. Because the market is competitive and technology is thriving, organizations are in more of a dire position to make sure that their processes are updated regularly. Processes are now being facilitated by the introduction of computers and software which are more systematic and improve the workflow systems applications. Harmon states that "Some advocate a formal process that approaches strategic analysis very systematically, while others support less formal processes. A few argue that the world is changing so fast that companies must depend on the instincts of their senior executives and evolve new positions on the fly in order to move rapidly" (2007, pg. 31).

In addition, formal process change is necessary in that many organizations have proven that it works. Organizations have analyzed and utilized theories and systems such as the Balance Scorecard, Capability Maturity Model, Six Sigma, and others in order to attain success. These systems are clearly indicative of the fact that formal process change can be used successfully. The ultimate goal is to attain complete customer satisfaction and to foster a long term relationship between the organization and its customers.

It is vital that an organization have a clear vision and understanding of the market, consumer desires and the needs of the geographic area. These systems exist for the purpose of promoting the firm's visions to its consumers.
